Coach Training

Joy completed her training as a Life and Career Coach at Coach U and has studied at New York University in the areas of Training, Coaching and Adult Career Planning & Development.  She recently became an Authorized Now What? Facilitator trained by internationally renowned speaker, coach and author Laura Berman Fortgang. 

Professional Experience

Prior to her training as a coach, Joy has worked in the corporate world in the field of Human Resources in the Advertising/Media, Professional Services Consulting and Financial Services industries. 

She started her corporate career with Sanford C. Bernstein in Private Client Services before making the transition into Human Resources.  She went on to work at top-ranked advertising agency, J. Walter Thompson, and media giant, MindShare. 

She has recently spent time consulting with top professional services firm BearingPoint, with “the world’s local bank,” HSBC as a Recruitment Strategist where she was selected to facilitate training on Interviewing Skills, and the business consulting division of IBM. 

Education

Before her venture into the corporate arena, Joy graduated from Colgate University with a Bachelor’s degree in Art & Art History and spent most of her time on the lacrosse field.

Personal

Joy’s love of life and her desire to have an impact on people has led her to the path of coaching.  Adventure and sports also play a large role in her life – she has recently been on the marathon course where she has completed four marathons and various half-marathons while raising money for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Marathoning has taught her firsthand the value of good coaching and to make sure that life is heading in the right direction.
